Our History

1992
Meadow Foods is founded as a farmer-backed dairy trading business focussed on selling dairy products as ingredients in the UK and Europe
1995
Meadow Foods merges with Cheshire-based dairy processing business, Bodfari. For the first time Meadow Foods has a farmer supplier base and processing facilities to manufacture products, and has a dedicated farmer supply base
1999
Meadow Foods expands production by building additional milk proteins plant at the Chester site
2002
Meadow Foods buys Holme-on-Spalding Moor processing site in Yorkshire, for the production of chocolate crumb and sweetened condensed milk
2003
Installation of first reverse osmosis (RO) concentrate plant to increase product offering. Installation results in some large contract wins and period of strong growth.
2007
New butter plant commissioned as part of ongoing investment in butter manufacturing capabilities
2008
Meadow Foods acquires West Lakes Dairy Park, more than doubling the business' milk field and paving the way for future growth. A second RO plant is commissioned and a new chilled butter warehouse completed.

2009
Meadow Foods acquires Nene Valley Foods site in Peterborough. The site can handle high volumes of packaged cream and produces a broad range of specialist products.
2010
Additional RO capacity commissioned at Chester site

We continue our plans for further future investment at all sites with many products in the planning and initial works stage.
