Milk Supply and Milk Balancing

Our strong dairy farmer networks mean that Meadow Foods is ideally placed to supply milk to the UK's leading liquid milk packers.

We also balance milk so that food manufacturers and liquid milk packers can sell excess milk or source additional milk supplies as and when necessary. Our direct dairy farm relationships and dairy processing capabilities mean that we can guarantee milk supply, even during winter months when product can be scarce.

We also buy back milk and cream that isn't needed by our food manufacturing customers for use in our own dairy processing plants. Where necessary we will separate the milk and cream ourselves.

We are investing heavily in our milk concentrate capabilities and produce reverse osmosis (RO) concentrates for powdered milk and for use in fresh dairy products such as ice cream, yoghurt and for drying into milk powder. The most recent investment has been in a new RO facility that can produce milk protein concentrates and is designed to capitalise on the EU regulations relating to milk standardisation.
